Communication is at the fundamental level of baseball 101.
Perhaps that’s why this improbable infield triple for the Springfield Cardinals (the St. Louis Cardinals Double-A affiliate) happened in the minors.

Randy Arozarena hit a routine pop-up near the mound where multiple fielders converged to make the catch but no one communicated.
After the ball fell to the turf, Arozarena was already on his horse to second base and kept on running to third with no one there to cover the bag.
This really was a textbook example of how important it is to call one another off for a ball when it’s in a shared area of the field.
